Nude art is associated with the depiction of an imaginative idealized human body. It is seen in many different forms, on ancient wall paintings when humans lived in caves, as the Venus of Urbino by Titian during the renaissance, or unconventional sculptures by Moore more recently. Here on the Sunshine Coast artists continue the tradition, by started a group to paint nudes, from posed life models, young and old, in 2001. In 2005, this group named itself “Life and Limn”, and members continue to paint for approximately 20 weeks/year. Current members are Devon Blean, Bruce Edwards, Jane Hennessy, Ron Jensen, Jan Major, Paula O’Brien, Cindy Riach, Brian Romer, Evelyn Sloboda, Russ Tkachuk and Victor Wong.
