Artesia Coffee House is back for a new series this spring, presented by the Coast Cultural Alliance and the Sunshine Coast Arts Council.

This Artesia Coffee House falls on International Women’s Day, March 8th and will be held at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt. For this special evening, we are featuring performances from a line-up of women presenting a diverse evening of entertainment. This is a concert setting complete with tasty treats and drinks for purchase. Tickets are $20 available on eventbrite or at the door which opens at 6:45PM with showtime at 7:30PM.

First up will be Angie Siren, a singer-songwriter with a style rooted in folky-feelings songs, that often migrates towards a louder folk-rock-grunge feel.  Next up is the dynamic duo, ‘KaraVal’ featuring violinist, Karen Foster, and Val Rutter on piano and recorders. These women have both enjoyed extensive performing and recording careers in Europe and North America including countless concert series, major music festivals and playing with world-class orchestras. Their musical styles vary from Folk to Film and Baroque to Bartok.

After a break we will have a reading from novelist, biographer, historian, poet, and evolving human, Rosella Leslie. Rosella has written, or co-written eight published books including Bright Seas, Pioneer Spirits with Betty C. Keller, The Goat Lady’s Daughter, The Cougar Lady, and Losing Us: A Dementia Caregiver’s Journey. Closing the evening Jacquie Allan and Wanda Nowicki combine their vocal energies for the first time! Accompanying them is the always divine Anna Lumiere on piano and new to the coast, Tiffany Bowen on upright bass. Together these 4 women will celebrate International Women’s day through a short set with the music focusing on …. what else? LOVE!

Artesia Coffee House 2024 Dates:

A big thank you to all the musicians, volunteers and wonderful audiences who made it all possible.
