Haida Bolton has brought children and nature together for over 30 years through summer camps and day camps here is BC and in Uganda. Her recently published book, Aida’s Adventures In Africa, now connects children to nature through the entertaining written words in her novel, enjoyed by youthful spirits of all ages from 5-95 years.
Follow Aida as she builds her courage and ability to be away from home, discovers the global root system beneath magical hollow trees, experiences lifelong adventurous memories and develops a greater love for the wild animal kingdom. Called to Africa by a friendly lion, Aida discovers that not all lions are friendly. While searching for Her Lion, she runs free with wild zebra, scares off hyenas, plays with a baby elephant and escapes the jaws of a protective silverback gorilla. Traveling by way of the Rootmobile via Denmark, Aida is left with a big decision at the end of her journey.
Aida’s Adventures in Africa is a geographical fiction inspired by the author’s childhood memory coupled by her travel memoirs through Denmark and Africa. The places above ground are all real, giving the reader a sense of geography, while the underground world is fictional, entertaining the reader’s imagination.
Haida will also be selling gift certificates for her reflexology and guided forest therapy walk services with “Nature With Haida” as she continues on her current mission to connect all ages with nature.
