I take painting seriously – I’m committed to my growth as an artist and therefore disciplined – it’s all I do. My abstract paintings use drips, splashes and hard edge shapes – conceived through the energy and act of doing and are reminiscent of the balance between nature and formation. I never over-think the work, my sense of placement and form dispel any accidental configuration. The results are sometimes crude, sometimes beautiful – but never pretty. The paintings are not titled; hence the meaning of a title will not affect the viewer’s perception, or connection to the work.
My hope is the viewer will find the visual experience refreshing and stimulating – inspiring the creative process in an engaging and ongoing narrative.
