Joe Denham is both an excellent poet and, no doubt, an excellent fisherman, and this is important, since the two careers interact and inform one another. One reviewer says of him that his “poetry flexes the muscle of language and pulls the weight of the stuff of life”. Another describes his work as “outrageously beautiful”.
Joe’s latest work, Regeneration Machine, won the Canadian Authors’ Association Award for Poetry in 2016, and in the same year was short-listed for the Governor General’s Award for Poetry.
Joe grew up here on the Sunshine Coast but moved to Victoria some years ago with his family.
