Presented by Alison Taylor

April 28th, 2019, 10am–1pm

Are you ready to build your first website, to share your art work online? Or perhaps you already have a site and want to switch to a new technology? Join Alison Taylor to learn about some popular options available to you, and their pros and cons.

We’ll cover some basic terminology like domain registration, hosting, and themes (aka templates). We’ll review several of the most popular technologies for building websites these days, and what the costs are. And yes, some of them will be free.

We’ll also look popular sales sites including Etsy, Saatchi Online, Amazon and eBay, and touch on options for selling prints and products with your artwork.

And finally, we’ll review what to look for in a web designer if you want someone to do it for you, and what information you’ll need to provide them with.

Alison has a BFA in Visual Arts and a BSC in Physics and Computing and is the owner of Digital Dandelion Web Studio and developer of ArtistClerk: Business Software for Artists. She occasionally offers hands-on one-weekend workshops where participants leave with a new website, and the knowledge of how to update it themselves.
