Artesia Coffee House

Artesia Coffee House
On Friday, January 16th2026, the Coast Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council presents the 24th season of the Artesia Coffee House.
The Coast Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council is excited to present the 24th season of the Artesia Coffee House, returning to the Doris Crowston Gallery of the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt on Friday, January 16th at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6:45 pm, and tickets are available in advance for $20 via Eventbrite or in-person during public hours at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre (beginning Jan 7th, Wed-Sun 12pm-4pm). Some tickets may be available at the door on the night of performance but we encourage you to pre-purchase in advance as we often sell out! A selection of tasty treats and beverages will be offered, with donations gratefully accepted.
The evening promises an eclectic mix of performances, starting with ‘The Coast String Fiddlers,’ a local group of young musicians, founded in 1993 by Michelle Bruce and now guided by Simon Gidora, once a Coast String Fiddler himself. If you would like to experience joy, laughter, thought-provoking lyrics, and a sense of belonging then you don’t want to miss Sechelt’s own Rae Armour, aka ‘The Hootin’Nanny!’.
Following the break our spoken word feature is Steve Schwable, an actor, musician, filmmaker, theatre presenter and all round ‘fun-guy’ in the performing arts on the Sunshine Coast and beyond. Closing the night, we are excited to present ‘Coctel de Pasion’, a Latin trio playing a mellow, yet danceable mix of Bolero, Salsa, and Montuno. Musicians include Martin Nemcovsky, a veteran jazz musician and music instructor from Argentina; Mariel Yuglesias, an experienced singer and songwriter from Costa Rica and Jeremy Forst, a multi-instrumentalist and music teacher from Gibsons. We look forward to welcoming you to a new year filled with live music, entertainment, and community! The Artesia Coffee House is presented by the Coast Cultural Alliance in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council.
