Calling all creatively curious youth ages 14-18 interested in deepening and developing their art practices.

The Sunshine Coast Arts Council will be hosting a space for emerging artists to discover opportunities and creative pathways aligned to a future in the arts; including portfolio preparation, post-secondary and artist residency information, introduction and experience in working with a variety of materials, exposure to diverse art/ artists, and more! Additionally, youth will have the option to have their work featured in a spring exhibition at the Arts Centre and participate in other Emerging Artist events.

We will meet in the studio space at the Arts Centre twice a month on Fridays 4-6pm, the group will be facilitated by Megan Dewar. Meg is a Curatorial Assistant at the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, a therapeutic arts facilitator, a mosaic artist, and a physically disabled wheelchair using femme living and working on Squamish and shíshálh territory.

Through participation in this program, emerging artists will have an increased understanding of their options to continue engaging with their creativity in a future in the arts and connect with a community of emerging, professional, and practicing artists!

We look forward to receiving your application and registration, the EAC will be limited to 12 participants. Applications to the program are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
