The Sunshine Coast Arts Council is proud to announce their two new Summer Assistants: Briony Kemp-Griffin and Keiran Semple. They will be helping out with the administration of numerous Arts Council projects as well as working in the Gallery. So make sure to stop by and say hello!

I am a current university student studying Modern Languages in Quebec, and I decided to come out to the Sunshine Coast for the summer. I was immediately interested in applying for the Summer Assistant Program at the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, as I have a huge appreciation and fascination towards art, but never really had the opportunity to work in an artistic environment. What attracted me the most about the Sunshine Coast Arts Council was its inviting community and everything it has to offer, from exhibitions, Summer Art Programs for kids, events etc. I am so grateful to be a part of this enriching community for the summer and to be surrounded by an artistic and creative environment!

Having been involved in art and music my entire life, the opportunity to work for the Arts Council was right away an exciting one. It’s a great feeling to work in this building with the continuous flow of art and music. Every day brings something new; there are so many great programs and opportunities facilitated by the Arts Council. I’m looking forward to the rest of my time here and especially Hackett Park. In the fall I’ll be returning to my studies at Thompson River University where I’m pursuing a degree in Psychology.
