This program was very successful for me in terms of practice development.

The window display was and evolving “WE shelter” with a Giant WE letters and a display of
different homes and tents in collaboration with youth artists.

Sechelt visitors were able to watch impromptu dance and video immersion through the front
windows while I was able to workshop ideas and work with collaborators.

One short live-stream performance by Goats and Lasers with video immersion was broadcast,
and lots of video of various collaborations was created and shared through social media.

Being able to have the time and space to visit various mediums I found myself working in 2D
mixed media on paper as well as getting into the research for a project exploring myth and
gender power dynamics.

One of my favourite moments from this residency was exploring video immersions of 1600
century fabrics.

I very much enjoyed being included in this program and think it is a great model for artist
residencies in underused store fronts
