Artesia Coffee House – January 12

Artesia Coffee House – January 12

Artesia Coffee House – January 12th

  • Time: January 12, 7:30PM – doors at 6:45PM
  • Location: Sunshine Coast Arts Centre, 5714 Medusa St, Sechelt
  • Tickets: $20 (Eventbrite or at the door – We will always hold back a few at the door for those not online)

The Artesia Coffee House is back for a new series this spring again partnering with the Sunshine Coast Arts Council and being held in the beautiful Doris Crowston Gallery at the Arts Centre in Sechelt. This is a concert setting complete with tasty treats and drinks for purchase. The first in the series will be held Friday, January 12th with doors at 6:45PM and showtime 7:30PM.

Join us as we present an eclectic evening starting the night with Jess Hart, a multi-talented musician, and a dynamic composer. Her music is a blend of folk, grunge and soul influences which can be noted in her compositions. She has performed across Canada and toured in Europe, with performances in Germany, Malta, and France.
Following Jess is a father and son duo, Chris, and Solomon Hergesheimer, who will be performing the original songs of ‘Marketplace’; the politically driven, anti-capitalist, hard hitting acoustic folk project.
After a break to completely liven up the place is Caravan Paradiso, a Felliniesque marching band that also occasionally performs in stationary venues. Featuring Graham Ord on soprano sax, Heather Anderson on trombone, Anna Lumiere on accordion and piano, James Law on drums/percussion and sometimes fiddle. This fun and helter skelter band play a style they describe as “funky Romany jazz mashup” featuring film music (Nino Rota – the Godfather, Fellini movies, Austin Powers, Harry Potter) as well as various world music selections (Brazilian, Slavic).

Artesia Coffee House 2024 Dates:

  • January 12
  • March 8 (International Women’s Day)
  • May 10

A big thank you to all the musicians, volunteers and wonderful audiences who made it all possible.
