Eco Warrior – The Battle Has begun. . .
Trashformation has been very inspirational for me. I knew I wanted to be part of the exhibition, as garbage is a problem we can control if we care enough. When I saw this piece of wood in the forest, I noticed the interesting markings on its surface made by insects and , when I looked at it in a different light, I saw images, faces, bodies. I hate to throw things in the trash, so I sometimes keep things hoping they might have a use in the future. As I have worked on my project, I have gathered pieces of flotsam together to incorporate into my piece. The fact is that plastic is a hideous problem that we now have to deal with or risk destroying our world. Plastic bags in particular are an ubiquitous menace, no longer recycled but still distributed by many merchants in our community.
I am using plastic for texture, old plastic paint and various disposables to create my piece.
