“This showing of my work encompasses several diverse subjects, and is perhaps more of a retrospective of my art career. Included in all my paintings is a deeper spiritual connection with the subject and an appreciation of the beauty around us, as well as a component of reflecting ‘that which requires deeper consideration and understanding’. In subtle ways my paintings are witness to a profound urgency to increase consciousness on this planet.

Included in the show are 6 paintings of the Gospel Rock area, near Gibsons, which has been valiantly protected from development by the community over the past 30 plus years, and continuing. These paintings will be featured along with a presentation on Sept.27, at 1:30pm.” – Pat Ridgway

“Visiting the Sunshine Coast in 1978, we were awed by the beauty of nature and the ocean. . .we decided this was where we wanted to live. Since then, I have spent a great deal of time painting and really getting to know this place, always inspired by the sights surrounding me. My paintings reflect not only the beauty of the land and the sea, but also my very personal emotional connection to this most beautiful area. This is… Sechelt, my way.” – Brian Romer
