“Summertime” – My inspiration was the garlic skins with their beautiful delicate colour. An etching with organic lines was tried. The paper didn’t print well so a piece of brown bag was tried and then collaged onto the skin. A beautiful dried flower was found in my box of maybe’s. This piece was set off by an overexposed cyanotype and framed in a found bamboo frame. Even garlic skins can be beautiful.

“Backyard” – Working with beautiful papers is always an inspiration for me and brings me great joy. Even though this paper is made from soaked brown bags and orange bits of tree, the texture, the softness the colour is amazing. Too soft for this woodcut carved on door skin to print so a brown bag was printed on and collaged onto the handmade paper.
